wavelength

1. . []

The distance between analogous points in a wave train, measured perpendicular to the wavefront. In seismic data, the wavelength is the seismic velocity divided by frequency. Wavelength is defined as:

λ = v / f,

where
λ = wavelength
v = velocity of propagation
f = frequency.
