The duration of the production period should be specified in the test design to assure that a stable flow situation is reached, and that the pressure disturbance has reached far enough into the formation to allow determination of a representative value for kh. For reservoir-limits testing, the production period must be long enough for the pressure disturbance to have reached the boundaries of interest.
